Product indications:
Advantage Multi™ for cats is a monthly topical medication for the prevention of heartworm disease, treatment of flea infestations, as well as the treatment and control of ear mites and intestinal roundworm and hookworm infections in cats and kittens.
Dosage and administration:

Note: cats over 18lbs should be treated with an appropriate combination of pack sizes of Advantage Multi for Cats.
For prevention of heartworm disease, Advantage Multi for Cats should preferably be administered year-round. At a minimum, monthly treatment should commence at least one month prior to the first expected exposure to mosquitoes and continue until at least one month after the last exposure to mosquitoes.
Warnings, side effects and potential drug interactions:
Advantage Multi is recommended for cats and kittens more than nine weeks old and weighing more than two pounds. It should be used cautiously with sick, debilitated, or underweight animals. The safety of this product has not been established with breeding, pregnant, or lactating cats. The product should be used cautiously with geriatric patients with potential subclinical conditions.
Advantage Multi should not be applied to irritated skin.
Ensure that Advantage Multi does not contact your cat's mouth or eyes. The treated cat and any other in-contact animals should not be allowed to lick the treatment site for at least 30 minutes following application. Note that for a short time after the product is applied skin may appear pink and hair at the application site may become stiff, damp or powdery.
Advantage Multi will kill adult fleas on cats, however in a contaminated environment, pre-existing pupae may continue to emerge from cocoons and re-infest animals for six weeks or longer after treatment is initiated.
Advantage Multi for Cats should be kept out of reach of children. Children should not be allowed to touch the application site on treated pets for at least two hours following application. Owners should avoid contact of this product with eyes or skin; it may be harmful if swallowed.
Cats should be tested for heartworm infection prior to commencement of any treatment with Advantage Multi at the discretion of your veterinarian. This product is not effective against adult heartworms (D. immitis).
Advantage Multi should not be given orally. Accidental oral ingestion of this product in cats has been associated with adverse reactions, including excessive salivation, vomiting, decreased appetite, dilated pupils, depression and lethargy, loss of co-ordination, disorientation, agitation, muscle tremors, breathing difficulties, coma, or even death.
Overdosing of the medication can be expected to cause similar clinical signs. Geriatric cats have been observed with prolonged lethargy and sleepiness after using this drug, possibly due to sub-clinical conditions.
On rare occasions, one or more of the following have been observed in treated cats: lethargy, behavioral changes, including agitation, itchiness and discomfort at the treatment site, loss of appetite, vomiting, coughing, breathing difficulties, sleepiness, excessive salivation, increased drinking, loss of co-ordination, varied allergic reactions. It was not established in the majority of cases that the effects observed were associated with Advantage Multi treatment.
